Abstract

1,094,391. Bottle holder. K. V. SKIPP. April 5, 1966 [April 23, 1965], No. 17166/65. Heading A4A. A holder comprises (a) a cover adapted to be fitted over, so as to embrace, a bottle, (b) retaining means carried by the cover for engaging an embraced bottle to prevent relative movement between the cover and the bottle and (c) means for effecting disengagement of the retaining means from the bottle, the cover including a lip portion for facilitating pouring the contents of the bottle. The retaining means may be an aluminium or other metal or plastic band which passes around the body of the bottle (as shown in Fig. 1) and one end of which is attached to the holder itself and the other end of which is attached to a movable part of the handle of the holder or it may be in the form of a pair of spring fingers which grip the neck of the bottle, disengagement being effected by means of a push-button arrangement. Alternatively (as shown in Fig. 5) the holder may be provided with a detachable base portion which serves to retain the bottle in position and may be attached by means of a screw or bayonet connection. The holder may be formed of aluminium or a synthetic plastics material and a stopper may be provided for closing the mouth of the cover and may be permanently connected to the cover, e.g. by being hinged thereto or connected thereto by means of a chain.
