Abstract

1,094,082. Pipe handling device. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. May 18, 1966, No. 22093/66. Heading B8E. [Also in Division F2] A device for manipulating a large hose into position for connection to a manifold as on a ship for the discharge of cargo comprises a cradle 2, on which the hose 1 is secured by clamps 3, mounted on a carriage having wheels 14 adjustable in height relative to a supporting frame 9 by plates 11 and locking screws 12. Fine height adjustment can be effected by a wheel 8 on a screw 7 having threads of opposite hands which manipulates the arms 5 supporting the cradle 2 to adjust its height relative to the frame 9.
