[Also in Division E1] A tube 1 of rectangular, e.g. square, crosssection has in opposed walls equally spaced rectangular apertures 6, 9, Fig. 1, two sides of each of which are parallel to the length of the element, and a similar tube 15 fits in these apertures and is held by a bolt 23 in bolt holes 8. In the modification of Fig. 1, in all faces the apertures 6 alternate with bolt holes 7, 8, the bolt holes in two opposite faces being in the same plane as the apertures on the other faces. The other tube 15 has bolt slots 22 on opposite faces and rectangular apertures alternating with slots 21 on the other faces. A further tube 27 has apertures 29 on two opposite faces and bolt holes on the other faces. A supplementary tube for use with the tubes 1, 15 has alternate rectangular apertures and bolt holes in the front wide wall, longitudinal grooves in the two side walls and bent strips of metal welded to the back wall to anchor it when it is embedded in concrete, Fig. 2 (not shown). The tube 1 may stand on a base or be bolted to a wall. The tubes may be secured end to end by spigots 13, 32. A means for securing an element e.g. a cable tray to the side of a tube comprises a strip secured by a bolt engaging an aperture and locating projections engaging in a bolt hole and a rectangular aperture, Fig. 2 (not shown). Another means comprises a strip 74, Fig. 4, having hooks 75 to engage rectangular apertures and a spring plunger 81 which engages a bolt hole, and is released by unscrewing a plug 79 which holds the spring 80 of the plunger. A cable clip 120, Fig. 6, is secured to a U-section member 100 by bolts having heads 123 adapted to be passed through slots 114 and turned for engagement, the U-section member fits over an apertured tube 117 so that semi-circular notches 115 engage bolts in holes 116 in the tube and leave a gap 118 between the channel and tube to accommodate the bolt heads 123.
