Abstract

1412902 Suspended ceilings A FISCHER 10 July 1973 [11 July 1972] 32855/73 Heading E1W [Also in Division F2] A suspended ceiling is supported by assemblies 1 each of which comprises an elongate support element 6 of wire, and an expansible sleeve 4, the support element 6 having at one end an expander portion 7 formed by a series of undulations, so that with the expander portion 7 in a bore 2, the sleeve 4 can be forced over the expander portion into anchoring engagement with the bore wall. The undulations increase in magnitude and pitch toward said end to give a wedge-shaped expander portion. The sleeve 4 has a longitudinal slit 5. The other end 8 of the element 6 is screw-threaded to receive a block 10 having projections 11 which engage slots 12 in the edges of ceiling tiles 9.
