Abstract
1,267,716. Shelf supports. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc: July 30, 1969 [July 31, 1968] No.38345/69. Heading A4B. A support for a sliding refrigeration shelf comprises a support part adapted for mounting on a wall and on which the side of the shelf rests and a leaf-spring 18 carried by the support part such that, in use, the spring 18 resiliently bears on the side edge of the shelf to limit sideways displacement. In one embodiment, Figs. 1, 2 the support part comprises a channel 10 with screw fixing holes 19 and flanges 13, 14 between which the shelf edge is received. Two or more arcuate leaf-springs 18 have their beaded ends 24 engaged in slots 21, 22 in the web 12 of the channel 10. In another embodiment Figs.3, 7, the shelf edge is guided between ribs 33 on two lugs 32 projecting from a base portion 31. The base portion 31 is provided on its rear side 37 with an integral plug 38 longitudinally slotted to define four fingers (39). A pin 42 is slidable in a bore 41 in the plug 38 to expand the plug 38 and secure it in an aperture in the refrigerator wall 26. In a modification Fig. 9, the pin 42 is integral with the leaf-spring.
