Abstract

1,093,213. Filing papers. EXPANDEX Ltd. Feb. 4, 1966 [Feb. 19, 1965], No. 7182/65. Heading B6E. A suspension bar for folders or pockets in a suspended filing system comprises a main bar B of channel section, and a pair of end-pieces C of nylon or other plastics substance slidably engaging within each end of the bar B. The bar B may be of metal, has a re-entrant flange 20 to engage folded-over lips 10 of the folders A, a top extension 22 extending beyond side flanges 24, and one side flange is cut back at 21 to facilitate entry of the folded lips 10 of the folders. The lips 10 of the folders may be cut away (at 11, Fig. 3) to facilitate engagement with the bar B. Each end-piece C is a onepiece injection moulding comprising a thinwalled body 30 of channel section, the free ends of the channels being cut back at 32, and solid head portion 33 formed with a notch 34 for engagement with the usual file rails. When the end-piece C is slidably engaged with the bar B, the extension 22 of the bar projects over the piece C at the top to provide additional strength.
