848,124. Suspension filing systems. WINGEREI, A. T. Dec. 12, 1957 [Dec. 18, 1956], No. 38650/57. Class 146(1). In a file folder 1 of the kind provided with a metal suspension strip which is slidable along supporting rails and an additional suspension strip of inverted U- shaped section which can be hooked on to a slidable suspension strip of an adjacent file folder, the slidable suspension strip 2 is provided at each end with a plastic sliding element 5 having a recess 8 straddling one of the supporting rails for sliding movement thereon, the plastic sliding elements also having shoulders 10 which abut against the inverted U-section suspension strip 3 on an adjacent folder 4 when hooked on to the slidable suspension strip to prevent relative lateral displacement of the suspension strips. The ends of the suspension strip 2 are received in slots in the upper sides of the elements 5. In a modification the strip 2 is replaced by a folded steel strip of inverted U-section and each of the elements 5 has a wing on its upper side which fits into the fold of the strip. In this embodiment the strip corresponding to the strip 3 has projections at each end which overlie the plastic sliding elements.
