Abstract
663,789. Suspension filing devices; tabs. ART METAL CONSTRUCTION CO. Jan. 10, 1950 [Jan. 17, 1949], No. 1320/49. Classes 16 and 146 (i). In a suspension filing device, the folder suspension means comprises a substantially V- section channel member 10 with at each end a notch 17 or like means for sliding engagement with the side rail or top 18 of the side 19 of a drawer, the side limbs 11 of the member 10 being each directed upwardly for the reception of the folded-over edge 13 of a pocket 14 and means for retaining the folded-over edge or edges of the pocket or pockets. As shown the retaining means comprises a cover channel member 15 fitting over the limbs 11 and material of adjacent pockets 14 to give a concertina arrangement. An alternative retaining means may comprise a T-shaped member with the central part acting as a wedge between the folded-over edges. To retain the folders in the drawer, a channel 21 may be secured to the sides 19 of the drawer, the overlapping flange 22 also overlying the ends of the cover channel 15 to prevent removal. The notches 17 may slide on a separate frame within the drawer. Tabs. Index holders 16a are provided on the cover channels 15 and when very narrow channels 10a and 15a, Fig. 5, are provided, the holders 16a may be double the width of the channel 15a and staggered along the length thereof.
