Abstract

1,092,983. Two-part couplings. SOCI•T• SOURIAU ET CIE. May 31, 1966 [June 10, 1965], No. 24155/66. Heading H2E. To join coupling part B to part A it is inserted into the hollow body of part A, with bosses 21 sliding in channels 30 and collar 8 is pushed forward against the resistance of springs 24. Terminals 4, 6 engage, projection 13 seats in a cavity within part A and tooth 26, which prevented collar 8 from rotating, slides clear of its notch (28) (Fig. 4, not shown) in the body of part B. When collar 8 is fully home in part A it may be turned so that bosses 21 slide in groove 31 and slip into openings 33, being held in position against their walls by springs 24. To release the coupling collar 8 must be pushed fully into part A again, turned and released. Tooth 26 engages in a recess 35 when the bosses 21 enter the openings 33. Reference marks may be incorporated at 40.
