Abstract

1,091,555. Regulating fluid flow. AUTO RESEARCH CORPORATION. Feb.24, 1965 [Feb. 26, 1964], No. 8060/65. Heading G3H. [Also in Division F2] In a check valve for use in flow metering fittings (72-75 and 80) Fig. 3 (not shown) at the outlets to bearings (67-71) from a centralized lubricant distributer (65) e.g. a central reservoir pump or pressure unit, lubricant from inlet 83 flows through filter 88, supported by screen 89, and is metered through an accurately bored passage B containing a diamond drawn pin C, the diameter whereof determines the flow rate and which is supported by a check valve closure element seating at 23 and comprising a fluorinated silicone element D, preferably of 0À008" to 0À010" thickness and of a Durometer hardness of 65 to 75 which is provided with a mirror or press polish finish and is backed by a metal plate E which abuts a valve spring F supported by a retainer G provided with spaced peripheral flow passages 30. The inlet pipe 83 is secured by a double tapered sleeve 84 which is compressed between nut 94 and sleeve 86 which presses peripherally upon the filter 88 and the metering fitting is threaded into the bearing structure 56.
