Abstract

In a motor vehicle headlamp which may be of the " sealed beam " type, the lead-in electrodes for the filaments pass through the lamp envelope at points which lie just below the horizontal centre plane of the envelope. The electrode bushings and the sealing pip are located within a circle drawn about the apex of the lamp reflector and having the diameter of the smallest retaining ring used for mounting the lamp.
