Abstract

1,089,603. Valves. HARTMANN PATENTVERWERTUNG G.m.b.H. April 20, 1966 [May 24, 1965], No. 17326/66. Heading F2V. The casing of a rotary spherical-valve is in two symmetrical halves 1, 2 bolted together the abutment plane of which is normal to the flow passages 4; the valve spindles 7 are provided with plain or roller bearings 8 and bushes 9 housing " O "-rings 10, 12, the latter being integral with a seal between the casing halves. The bearings 8 may each comprise two halfshells separable from or integral with a respective casing-half; the bushes 9 are locked by a pin 21. Each bearing 8 and bush 9 may be formed as a one-piece plastics member. The spherical closure-member 5 has annular seals 16 that coact with axially-movable seatrings 15 which have freedom of radial movement about the passages 4. The rings 18 abut " O "- rings and an additional ring (19, Fig. 5, not shown), and " O "-ring (20) may be arranged in series therewith; a spring may replace the additional ring (19).
