Abstract
1,087,926. Connections to flues. GUSTAV OSPELT, HOVALWERK, A.G. March 9, 1966 [March 10, 1965], No. 10430/66. Heading F4W. A T-shaped connecting piece for mounting in the piping between a boiler (6) and a chimney (9) has two ends 3 and 7 of equal section so that either of them can be connected to the smoke flue piping (8) or sealed by a cover 10, the third end 4 being mounted on the smoke socket or piping leading thereto. The cover 10 carries a circular throttle plate 16 on a rotatable shaft 15, the shaft being secured by a circlip 17 and a flat spring clip 18 serving as a handle for adjusting the valve and as an indicator in a click stop arrangement. The cover 10, having an asbestos seal 11, is secured by tightening a tapering screw (14). The angle between the ends 3 and 7 need not be exactly 90 degrees.
