Abstract

Fire-extinguishing compositions comprise a suspension of K or K and Na salts in fine particle form in an aqueous medium containing a suspending agent which is present as a very finely divided solid, e.g. a clay, bentonite MgCo3 and/or a water-soluble salt, e.g. MgCl2 or an alkali metal silicate or metaphosphate. The preferred suspended salts are KHCO3 and K2CO3.
