1,229,231. Powder fire extinguishants. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 20 Dec., 1968 [30 Jan., 1968], No. 4776/68. Heading A5A. A foam-compatible fire-extinguishing dry powder comprises 0.01-10% by .weight graphite and sodium or potassium bicarbonate or a product of heating urea with alkalis as described in Specification 1,168,092. Free-flowing and anti-caking additives may also be included, e.g. talc, silica, calcium stearate, or silicone- or siloxane treated silica. An example is 90-99 p.b.w. NaHCO 3 , KHCO 3 or the ureaalkali product as above 5-0/p.b.w. SiO 2 , .1-2 p.b.w. siloxane or silicone, and .1-5 p.b.w. graphite.
