Abstract

A fire-extinguishing composition comprises water, a foaming agent e.g. sodium dodecylbenzenesulphonate, an anti-freeze compound e.g. glycerol or a glycol and a foam-protective agent which is finely divided silica or a water-soluble silicate. It may be filled into containers together with a propellant gas e.g. trichlorofluoromethane and/or dichlorodifluoromethane.
