Abstract
1,085,809. Injection moulding machines. PETROL INJECTION Ltd. March 9, 1965 [March 26, 1964], No. 12934/64. Heading B5A. A platen assembly 16 is moved towards a fixed platen assembly 5 by a pneumatic cylinder 28, the assemblies 5, 16 are engaged by collars 32, 33 carried by transversely movable rods 31, and hydraulic pressure is then applied by a piston (21), Figs. 1, 4 (not shown) to lock the assemblies 5, 16 together. The piston (21) is mounted in a recess in a platen 18 to which a male die (not shown) is secured. The rods 31 carrying the collars 32, 33 extend longitudinally from arms 29 which can be pivoted inwardly and outwardly by a pneumatic cylinder (35) and piston (36), Fig. 3 (not shown). An ejector pin (39) is operated by a cylinder 38 secured to the piston (21), Fig. 1 (not shown). A pneumatic plunger 11 feeds material to an injection cylinder 12 heated by induction heaters 13 and containing an injection plunger 15 operated by a pneumatic cylinder 14.
