Abstract

1,083,919. Stoppers &c. PATENTAUSWER. TUNGSGESELLSCHAFT DR. HUTHMANN, JASKULSKI & LOHRER. July 27, 1965 [July 28, 1964; Sept. 14, 1964; July 6, 1965], No. 32016/65. Heading B8T. A plastics stopper for a bottle &c. comprises a cap 1 separated by a circumferential weakening groove 6 from a skirt portion 3. A band 8 connects the cap and skirt and extends between the downwardly turned ends 7 of the weakening groove, the lower ends of which may be connected by a shallow groove 9. One end of the weakening groove 6 may be extended down at 10 to the lower skirt edge to.facilitate complete removal of the closure. Diametrically opposed to the band 8 the cap carries a lifting tab, in the vicinity of which the weakening groove 6 may be replaced by an incision to facilitate easy opening. The inner surface of the cap carries a tubular plug which may be tapered both internally and externally. The incision adjacent the lifting tab may extend just along, the lower surface of the tab, or additionally up both sides of the tab to or beyond its upper surface.
