Abstract

1,083,185. Insulated tube. A. MEIERSCHENK. Aug. 28, 1964 [Aug. 30, 1963], No. 15398/64. Heading F2P. An insulated tube comprises a pipe 1 coaxially embedded in a seamless metal or plastics tube 2 with an intermediate layer of foamed plastics such as polyurethane which is self-adhering to the internal surface of the outer tube. The pipe 1 is held in position by two or more spacers 4 comprising an arcuate web 5 part surrounding the pipe and spaced from the tube by radially extending legs T or a triangularshaped spacer distanced from the tube by legs extending from the apexes of the triangle. The pipe is placed in position in the tube and the plastics material is foamed from one or both ends of the tube or from either or both ends and the middle of the tube.
