Abstract

1,080,213. Interrupters. AMP Inc. Sept. 20, 1965 [Sept. 25, 1964], No. 39073/64. Heading H2B. In a contact breaker set for an ignition distributer 1 of an I.C. engine, the leaf spring 14 connected to the movable contact 12 has its free end releasably engaged in a recess (18, 19, Fig. 1) in a block 15, e.g. of nylon, and is formed with tabs 16, 17 for releasably receiving receptacles 20, 21 having leads to the condenser and ignition circuits. A pair of lugs (22, Fig. 1) projecting from the block 15 releasably snap fit around a projection (9, Fig. 1) on the metal base 5 of the contact set. To alter the ignition timing, the position of base 5 on the distributer is adjustable relative to the actuating cam (not shown).
