Abstract

927,847. Interrupters ; distributers. HOLLEY CARBURETOR CO. Jan. 25, 1960 [Aug. 31, 1959], No. 2606/60. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXVII] An ignition contact-breaker having a discontinuous double range of timing adjustment controlled by engine suction has contacts 32, for operation by cam 30, mounted on a plate 24 which is rotatable against springs 96 and 98 anchored at 104 and 106 to the plate 24, and at 100 and 102 to the housing 12. Engine suction acts on a diaphragm 70 connected to the plate 24by a rod 72. An abutment 82, preloaded by spring 84, acts as a stop to diaphragm 70 until the suction exceeds the value predetermined by adjustment of spring 84 by nut 86, whereon further movement of diaphragm 70 occurs. Distributers.-The cam-shaft carries an insulated rotor for spark distribution and this has a springy contact blade biased against a fixed input terminal in the distributer cap (Fig. 1, not shown).
