Abstract

1,079,941. Supplying gas to burners. G. HALLS. Feb. 22, 1965 [May 1, 1964], No. 18302/64. Heading F4T. A portable gas appliance for attachment to a pressurized container of liquefied gas 8 having an outlet valve 19 comprises a threaded nozzle 25 extending through an aperture 21 in a support member 10 and by rotating a nut 26 threaded on to the nozzle below the support member a recess 32 containing a seal 34 in the nozzle can be screwed down until it engages and depresses the valve thereby initiating and regulating the flow of gas from the container. The support member 10 is of channel-shaped cross-section with inwardly directed flanges 11 which interfit an annular groove 15 on a head portion of the container. The nozzle supports on its upper end a mixer tube 23 with burner head 28 and a spring 30 forces the nozzle and mixer tube in the upward direction.
