Abstract

1,076,902. Snap-action switches. SIEMENS-ELECTROGERATE G.m.b.H. Aug. 4, 1964 [Aug. 13, 1963], No. 31702/64. Heading H2B. A snap-action switch with a contact wiping action has an operating member 5 fixed to the ends of two leaf-spring portions 1, 4, which may be integral, the opposite ends of which carry a contact 10 and an inverted U-shaped rockable element 7, respectively, a snap spring 2 is fixed to the contact-carrying end of spring portion 1 and engages a notch 3 in the element 7, and anticlockwise turning of member 5 causes contact wiping and brings notch 3 of element 7 below the centre-line of spring portion 1 through which element 7 moves as contacts 10, 11 move quickly apart. The position of stop 21 determines whether the switch is retractive or not. Member 5 is operated via a lever arm 14 and a push-rod 22, arm 14 carrying an adjusting screw 16 engaging a leaf-spring 12 secured to the operating member 5 and insulating base 13. Adjustable stops 8, 9, limit rocking movement of element 7, and an adjustment screw 15 spaces apart the arms of element 7.
