Abstract

1,088,355. Actuation of switches. HANS SIMON UNKEL G.m.b.H. June 10, 1965 [July 10, 1964], No. 24493/65. Heading H2B. A snap switch comprises an actuating stirrup 3 linked by a tension spring 4 to the free end of a generally U-shaped member of spring material having one end clamped and the free end carrying a ring contact. The stirrup 3 is pivoted at 5a, 5b and movement to one side or the other snaps over the moving contact. Stirrup 3 may be actuated by a screwed rod 13, Figs. 6, 7, 8 (not shown), the end of the stirrup fitting into a support 21 adjustable in position on rod 13 by a knurled nut 20. The position of pivots 5a is adjustable up or down by adjustment of rods 16, 17. Stops 18a, adjustable by adjusting rods 18, to limit the movement of stirrup 3 may be provided. The moving contact changes over between fixed contacts which, together with the clamped end of the U-shaped member, are held in an assembly of insulating blocks held together by screw 10. A number of stirrups and their associated U-shaped members and fixed contacts may be mounted in one assembly of blocks for conjoint operation by rod 13, Fig. 8. In a modification, Fig. 11 (not shown), the ends of stirrup 3 have an extension 3d beneath bearings 5a to limit the movement of the stirrup in one direction.
