Abstract

1,076,362. Roll holders. KAISER ALUMINUM & CHEMICAL CORPORATION. April 6, 1965, No. 14610/65. Heading A4G. A roll of sheet-like material, e.g. aluminium foil (30), Fig. 1, is packaged in a tube 12 of cardboard and may be dispensed through a longitudinal slot 28 in the tube. The material (30) is wound on a core 34 which is rotatable within the tube. The ends of the core are carried by caps 24 which are of plastics material or metal and may have splines or ribs 44<SP>1</SP>. The sheet material is dispensed by rotating one of the end caps 24, the splines 44<SP>1</SP> gripping the inside of the core 34 to turn it and causing the material (30) to be dispensed through the slot 28 in the tube 12. The edge of the slot is serrated (at 22) to enable a required length of the sheet to be torn off. A modified form of end cap, Fig. 5, has a single inner skirt wall. When the sheet material is used up, a refill may be fitted.
