A draft regulator comprises a circular frame A mounted in a sleeve E, a flap B pivoted to the frame and a single counterweight G adjustably mounted on a bracket F secured to the flap above the pivots C and extending into the sleeve. The bracket F is secured to the outside of the flap B, its arm extending forwardly at 79, upwardly and then rearwardly at 83 through a slot in the flap B so that a greater range of adjustment of the weight G can be obtained. The weight G has a tapered lower part so that its centre of gravity is as near as possible to its attachment to the bracket F. The counterweight may be adjusted without dismantling the assembly by fully opening the flap B.
