801,574. Letterbox fittings. STAINLESS DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd. Jan. 1, 1957 [April 17, 1956], No. 11688/56. Class 18. A cover for the interior side of a letter-box opening in a door comprises a flap 1 hingedly supported at its upper edge by a pair of brackets 2 so that its centre of gravity is further from the door than its pivotal axis and it is thus held in contact with the door at its lower edge by its own weight. Each bracket 2 comprises a fixing plate 8. Adjacent the top of each bracket 2 is an inwardly projecting pin 10 engaging freely within a bead 6 on the flap to provide a hinge. In a modification (not shown), a light spring may be provided to hold the flap 1 closed ; while the pins 10 may be replaced by a rod extending through the bead 6, and means can be provided to limit the upward rise of the flap 1.
