A tobacco feeding and distributer device comprises a series of winnower rolls 4-7 for tobacco 3 received from a conveyer 1 and a series of obstructions 9-12 in the flight path of the tobacco each consisting of a plurality of grid-like rebound surfaces 13 arranged transversely with gaps 14 therebetween. The tobacco partides, after being mixed and redistributed fall on to a second conveyer 17 and form a fleece 20.
