Abstract

722,016. Jigging shoots. G.K.N. GROUP SERVICES, Ltd. Aug. 15, 1952 [Aug. 15, 1951], No. 19199/51. Class 78 (1). A device for feeding screws and other headed articles from a bulk supply in a predetermined attitude comprises two slotted jigging shoots 19, 20, Fig. 2, arranged in alignment and having the cross-sections shown in Figs. 4, and 5, respectively. Any articles, .e.g. the screws 81, which do not fall into the slot of the shoot 19, pass on to the inclined edges 84, 85 of the shoot 20 from which they are shaken into the receptacles 86, 87. These receptacles have outlets through which the screws pass on to a conveyer or shoot 28 which returns them to the bulk supply. A helical jigging conveyer (not shown) raises the articles from the bulk supply to a shoot 18 which feeds the shoot 19.
