Abstract

1,072,446. Enclosures for lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 16, 1966 [March 19, 1965], No. 11526/66. Heading F4R. [Also in Division E2] A housing for a light source consists of upper and lower parts which engage one another in a horizontal plane, the first part lying above the plane but having a lip 4 which extends below the plane, and the second part 7 lying below the plane and terminating in a lip 8 of inverted U cross-section fitting inside the lip 4, and resilient means securing the parts together. The means may comprise a hinge pin 5 on the upper part and a hinge element 14 on the lower part, the element consisting of two end portions 16 engaging the hinge pin and a portion between them having a turned-up end 18 bearing against the pin 5, the whole being made of resilient sheet metal. The lower part 7 is of light metal having a translucent element 10 clamped in an opening in the base. The two parts are secured together in closed position by a number of resilient clips pivoted to the lower part and engaging over the lip of the upper part.
