Abstract

A titanium base alloy comprises:- .Al.5.5 - 7.5% .Zr.3.5 - 4.5% .V.0.7 - 2.3% .Oz.up to 0.15% the balance apart from impurities and incidental ingredients, being titanium. The alloy has an ultimate tensile strength greater than 120,000 p.s.i. and a Charpy impact toughness at -80 DEG F. of over 25 ft lbs.
