Abstract
1,069,615. Centrifugal pumps. W. ZINDLER, [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER KOMM GES]. March 30, 1965 [April 21, 1964], No. 13483/65. Heading F1C. [Also in Division G2] A pump for circulating liquid developer containing dispersed particles from a container 1 to the developing trough 5 of an electrophotographic processing equipment comprises a conical impeller 29 (which may be of adjustable conicity) dipping into the liquid with its lower end just above the bottom of the container, where the dispersed particles tend to settle. The distance from the bottom of the container may be adjustable. The developer raised by the impeller is sprayed over the top edge 30 and caught by a wall 11 and then flows through a channel or a flexible pipe, (not shown), to the trough 5, returning to the container 1 through an opening 8. The spider 32 connecting the impeller 29 to the shaft 31 comprises four helical blades which draw liquid into the impeller. The inner surface of the impeller may be roughened or provided with grooves arranged parallel to the axis or helically. The speed of motor 19 may be adjustable. In a modification, the impeller has a top cover serving to connect it to the shaft; three discharge slots are provided just below the cover. The trough 5 is provided with upstanding ribs 7.
