A passive stabilizer system for oil tankers having a central longitudinal bulkhead (2) with a plurality of openings (2a) therein comprises sliding doors (3) closable (via control rods 4) in desired combinations for the purpose of tuning the passive stabilizing action resulting from liquid flow through the bulkhead openings. The system is in a section of the vessel divided by transverse bulkheads (1) into compartments in each of which there is an opening (2a) and sliding door (3).
