Abstract

1,068,204. Handling tubular articles. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHœTTE STERKRADE A.G. June 16, 1965 [Feb. 5, 1965], No. 25408/65. Heading B4W. A tool for handling pit props and other tubular articles comprises a hand grip 1 having two extensions 2, 3 which together form a claw which embraces one half of the circumference of the article to be handled, the extension 2 having a locking bolt 6 which in its operational position forms an abutment embracing a part of the other half of the circumference. The bolt 6 is longitudinally slidably mounted in a recess 5 in the member 2, one end 6<SP>1</SP> forming an abutment for the tube 4. The head 8 limits the displacement of the bolt in the operative direction. The stop 7 limits the retraction of the bolt when the lock is released.
