1,067,747. Ventilation devices for road vehicles. P. K. SAUNDERS, and C. D. B. WILLIAMS. Dec. 3, 1964 [Nov. 19, 1963], No.45670/63. Heading B7J. An auxiliary ventilation device fitted to a right-hand automobile door having two parallel horizontally sliding windows, comprises a glass or transparent synthetic plastic deflector 3 carried by two hinges each comprising a strap 5 riveted to the deflector 3 and fixed to a hinge pin 6 embraced by a strap 7 secured to the front part 8 of the front window frame, so that the deflector is angularly movable to a self-sustaining position anywhere between two limiting positions A, B to cause the outlet or inlet of air from or to the automobile through the space resulting from rearward sliding of the front window 1. The strap 7 comprises a doubled end 7b adjustably secured around the pin 6 by a screw 13 engaging a nut 14 attached to the strap 7, and an extension 7a secured around the fixed front-window-frame part 8 supporting a sealing channel 9 for the front window 1, by means of a clamping plate 10 fixed to the strap 7 by a screw 11 engaging a nut 12 attached to the strap 7. The element 8 is adjacent to a door post 15 having a gutter 15a. A packing layer 16 of cork is provided.
