Abstract
The insole (3) (Fig. 1, Figs. not shown) of a sports shoe terminates at a cushion (9) of elastic material at the heel portion, and extension portions (10), (11) of the upper (2) are joined together below the cushion and covered by the outsole (4). The crimped edges of portions (10), (11) are stitched together, and may be covered by a leather strip (14). The upper is strengthened by a tongue (1) which covers the back seam and extends below the surface of the cushion.
