Abstract
1,257,874. Boots &c. WILLY GLOGG A.G. 26 March, 1970 [1 April, 1969], No. 14774/70. Heading A3B. A turn-shoe, e.g. a slipper, includes an upper 1 having an extension which covers the side and rear surface of the heel 6, and an outsole 2 which is stitched over substantially its entire length to the upper 1 and, together with the insole 3, is drawn down to cover the breast face of the heel 6, the end of the outsole 2 being fixed to the lower side of the heel 6. In making the shoe the closed upper 1 and stiffener, inside out, are stitched to the outsole 2, and the insole 3. is inserted in the shoe. The shoe is then turned right-side out and a heel 6 and shank 8, both coated with adhesive, are placed in the shoe. The edges of the heel cover portion of the upper 1 and the end of the outsole 2 are turned under the heel 6 and are secured in position by a top lift 7. The shoe is completed by inserting a sock 4 in the shoe. The invention can also be applied to shoes with sling-backs and backless footwear (not shown).
