Abstract

1,066,091. Extruding. DAVY & UNITED ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 7, 1966 [Jan. 14. 1965], No. 1668/65. Heading B3P. An extrusion press has a rotary die-receiving device 19 for receiving an extrusion die 14 and locating it in a predetermined position. During extrusion the die 14 is mounted in a transversely movable slide 13 and located therein by key 13B. After extrusion the slide is moved along guides 15 by ram 17, 18 to position the die adjacent one or other receiving apertures 21, Fig. 2 (not shown), in a rotary die changer 19. Axially movable arms 26 remove the die 14 from the slide 13 and transfer it into the aperture 21 where it is located by a key such as 13D on a hinged member 22. Changer 19 is then rotated to bring a fresh die into position.
