Abstract
1,065,760. Burners. HAUCK MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 31. 1965, No. 55474/65. Heading F4T. An oil burner in which the oil is atomized by low pressure air comprises an oil tube 12 surrounded by an atomizing air tube 14 surrounded by a combustion air tube 16, and a spray tip 26 comprising radial oil discharge passages 28 and a divider sleeve 32 dividing the atomizing air into two streams. The divider sleeve forms with the tip 26 an air passage of decreasing cross-section and is provided with flat or helical spin vanes 44. Further radial non-spin vanes 48 are secured to the outside of the divider 26. The tip 26. has a step 30 upstream of the discharge passages 28. The edges of the divider 26 and the spray tip are sharp. The combustion air is rotated in the opposite direction to the atomizing air by adjustable vanes 90. The assembly of oil tube, spray tip and divider sleeve is axially adjustable relative to the atomizing air tube 14. In a modification (Fig. 10) a tube (70) supplied with gas is disposed between the atomizing air tube (14<SP>1</SP>) and the combustion air tube (16<SP>1</SP>).
