Abstract

106,489. Comment, P. May 6, 1916, [Convention date]. Zinc sulphide.-White and stable zinc sulphide is obtained by fusing a mixture of an alkali sulphate, zinc sulphate, and zinc persulphide; or a mixture of zinc-alkali sulphate and zinc persulphide. A suitable mixture may be made by adding alkali pentasulphide to zinc sulphate solution and evaporating the mixture. The alkali sulphate remains unchanged and is recovered by washing.
