Mav 17, 1916, [Convention date] Borax is obtained from mixtures of borax or boric acid and sodium sulphate by dissolving the material, adding soda if necessary, and evaporating the nearly saturated solution at its boiling- point until most of the sodium sulphate has separated out. The solution is then cooled, preferably to 34‹ C., to crystallise the borax.
