Abstract
A calcium aluminate carrier is subjected to a hydraulic set at ordinary temperatures, before or after mixing with a divalent spinel-forming metal or metal oxide such as nickel, cobalt, iron or magnesium. The composition or cement is granulated and the catalyst composition is pelleted or tabletted and set and finally steam treated at such a temperature with at least 20 psig to develope a DWL crush strength of at least 74 lbs. Particle size and annular shapes are disclosed.
