Abstract
1293151 Hydrogenative dehydration catalysts KAO SOAP CO Ltd 28 Oct 1969 [29 Oct 1968] 52736/69 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Catalyst mixtures comprise a copper Containing hydrogenation catalyst containing at least one other metal and a dehydration catalyst. Catalysts are prepared in samples by adding successively to sodium carbonate solution, solutions of zinc sulphate, chromium trioxide, copper sulphate and, after generation of carbon dioxide has ceased, sodium hydroxide solution, washing, drying, pulverizing and calcining the precipitate, mixing the product with graphite and acid activated clay, forming into 0.50 mm. granules and heating successively with nitrogen, nitrogen and hydrogen and then with hydrogen alone (1); (3); by mixing the copperchromium-zinc catalyst of (1) with a silicaalumina catalyst instead of acid activated clay (4); with a molybdenum trioxide catalyst (5); and with alumina (6, 9) and by mixing a copper oxide-copper chromate catalyst with a molybdenum trioxide-alumina catalyst (12).
