Abstract

1369484 Dehydrogenation catalysts MITSUBISHI PETROCHEMICAL CO Ltd 10 Nov 1971 [11 Nov 1970 (2)] 52147/71 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] A Ni/Cr catalyst supported on a calcinable carrier having substantially no acidic point is prepared as follows:-To an aqueous solution containing Ni(NO 3 ) 2 .6H 2 O; Cu(NO 3 ) 2 .3H 2 O; Cr(NO 3 ) 2 .3H 2 O; H 2 SO 4 ; and Na 2 SO 4 is added. SiC as a carrier and the resulting mixture is heated under agitation to evaporate water. The resulting material is calcined for 4 hours in an air stream at 400‹C. The catalyst thus produced is finally reduced for 2 hours in hydrogen stream at 400‹C. Fused alumina may also be used as carrier and Cu may be ommitted or Co added.
