1381455 Alkanols; hydration of olefins DEUTSCHE TEXACO AG 27 Feb 1973 9585/73 Heading C2C C 2-5 Alkanols are made by hydrating C 2-5 olefins in the presence of strongly acidic cation exchange resin, the reaction being commenced at 120-150‹ C. and the temp. being gradually raised to maintain the yield at above a predetermined minimum throughout the effective-life of the catalyst.
