Gas-fires; boilers, arrangement of; heat-rad ators; draught, inducing.-The products of combustion from a gas-stove are first cooled to approximately the same temperature as that of the surroundings, and are then discharged by re-heating them or by means of a fan or other forced-draught device. The Figure shows a gas-fire. The combustion products from the burner 2, after heating and radiants 1, pass under a refractory plate 10, and heat water in tubes 5 indicated by a sinuous line, and are cooled by them. Thence they pass to a chamber 7, whence the condensed water is withdrawn through an opening 9. The cooled gases are then reheated by a burner 11 in order to ensure their discharge through the chimney 8. The heated water circulates through the pipe 17, collectors 16, 19 and radiator 18. At starting, a damper 21 is withdrawn to enable the combustion products to pass direct to the chamber 7 and flue 8 in order to initiate a draught. Specification 11502/15 is referred to.
