Air-heating and cooking stoves; gas heating- stoves; air, supplying for combustion; heatradiators. - A stove consists of three separable units, a base or support, a combustion chamber of the type in which air for combustion is preheated by passing through a jacket or jackets surrounding the combustion chamber, and a heat disposal or radiator unit which receives the gases from the combustion chamber. The form shown in Fig. 3 comprises a base 8, a combustion chamber containing gas burners to which air is supplied through openings 7 in the outer wall 4, being heated in the jacket spaces surrounding the inner chamber 2, and a radiator unit. The latter comprises an inner open-ended truncated conical body 10 surrounded by a fluted or corrugated cone 12, the combustion products and hot air passing up through the body 10, down the passages formed by the corrugations, and out at the openings 13. Mica-covered holes 11 in the body allow the glow to be seen through the openings 13. A grating may be provided at the lower end of the cylinder 2 for the use of solid fuel such as charcoal. Fig. 5 shows a modification of the radiator, in which an outer cone 15 surrounds the fluted cone 12, the gases first passing down the spaces between the cones 10, 12, and then up the spaces between the cones 12, 15. Fig. 4 shows a radiator of cylindrical form, the outer fluted casing having openings at top and bottom, and the air currents taking the courses indicated by the arrows. A cylindrical chamber 16 forms an oven. A cooking-utensil may be heated on top of the stove as indicated in Fig. 3.
