Abstract
106,257. Sullivan, M. M. March 15, 1917. Tools for setting-out work.-Links 1, are pivoted together on the " lazy-tongs " principle by sets of rivets 5, 6, 7 which are tubular or have apertures through which a scriber or other marking-tool may be passed. For marking on curved lines, the distance between the central row of pivots 5 and the end pivots 6 may be larger than or different from the distance between the rows 5 and 8, and an arrangement is shown in Figs. 5 and 8, and an arrangement is shown in Figs. 5 wards or from the pivots 5. As shown, the pivots 6 are movable in slots 15, 16 in the links 1, 2 and also in slots 13 in transverse members 10 having slots 9 engaging the lower pivot pins 8 ccnnecting the links 1, 2. The ends 11 of the members 10 are enlarged, and have turned-over ends 12 tapped for screws 20 passing through the pivot pins 6. Heads 21 on the screws 20 are held by springs 22 in engagement with the under sides of the pins 6. Curved slots 19 in the ends 11 engage pins 17, 18 on the links 1, 2. The pivot pins are moved by operating the heads 20<a> of the screws.
