Abstract

To prevent corrosion of petrol tanks or ferrous metals in contact with oil well fluids, one or more amidoamines of the following formulae are added to the fluids:- <FORM:1062359/C6-C7/1> and <FORM:1062359/C6-C7/2> where R1 and R2 are aliphatic hydrocarbon radicals. The preferred amidoamine is the monoamide of N-oleyltrimethylenediamine and oleic acid.
