Abstract

1,061,759. Detecting the presence of a desired liquid in a pipe. SEMISA S. A. Oct. 8, 1963 [Oct. 8, 1962], No. 39560/63. Heading G1N. In an arrangement for detecting the presence of a desired liquid in a pipe or a change of nature of the liquid resulting in a decrease of conductivity the flow of current between the electrodes (21), (22), Fig. 2 (not shown) from an A. C. source (P) is applied to the coil (B2) of a relay. The sensitivity may be adjusted by a potentiometer (P2) and the relay change over point is predetermined by the current through a second opposed relay coil (B1 which may be preset by a potentiometer (P1). The voltage in the second circuit is regulated by a Zener diode (Z). The arrangement described is used to distinguish between the desired liquid and air or an emulsion in the pipe to interrupt a meter circuit monitoring the flow of the desired liquid.
